Then there is wellbeing. How happy you are. How relaxed and content. Space to breath. To think. To read and relax, or to play and entertain.

When you have your garden done, I don’t see it as spending money. Your making an investment.

Spending time outside is well known to improve a persons wellbeing. This is one kind of investment. The other is the fact that having your garden done can actually increase the value of your house! The Home Owners Alliance suggests that the added value could be as much as double the investment made. A study by Post Office Money found that spending around £2,750 on garden landscaping can add up to 77% onto the value of your house, whilst Property Price Advice suggests that Kerb and garden appeal adds up to 10% to the value of your home.

So, when deciding what is a sensible investment for outdoor living, perhaps a good equation to consider is the value of your house, divided by 10. Or more, depending how important your garden could be to you as a person?
