Designing Gardens

When designing gardens, the first thing we look to find out is its perimeter size. We look at where other elements are positioned too, recently using Moasure. By speaking with our clients, we consider things to keep and things to lose to map them too. Client needs and client wants are vital. Our job is to then bring it all together to make best use of space…. providing maximum ‘bang for your buck’.

In todays busy world, low maintenance is a very common requirement. The simplest thing is to just put a big patio down. But, proper gardens are cleverly and thoughtfully designed spaces. Often more than just patios and lawns.

I’m talking about colour and form, focal points and structure, repetition and balance…. this is just what you can see! We also consider drainage and power, access and storage, children and animals so adapt our construction methods accordingly.

A landscape of hard surfaces is simple, but there is a big difference between a landscape and a landscaped garden.
